Playblog is a small team of people who run (and have run) dropshipping stores on Shopify. We're not a VC-backed SaaS company. There's no paid tier, no premium plan, no upgrade CTA anywhere on the site.
Every free dropshipping calculator we found online was missing something important. Zendrop's profit margin calculator doesn't include payment processing fees. Dropship.io's break-even ROAS calculator only takes two inputs (selling price and COGS) and ignores shipping, transaction fees, and ad cost per unit. Ship To The Moon has more calculators but visually feels like a 2020 WordPress template and there are no internal links between related tools. Most of them exist as lead magnets for a paid subscription — the calculator is the bait, the email capture is the hook.
We wanted a version that did the opposite. Every formula visible. Every edge case handled. Every result explained with a worked example. Every tool linked to the related tools and the related articles, so a person who lands on the break-even ROAS calculator can follow the thread to "what is a profitable ROAS" and back to "how to calculate gross margin" without hitting a sign-up wall.
Every formula on this site is checked against a published source before it goes live. Payment-processing rates come from Stripe's, PayPal's, and Shopify's official pricing pages (verified July 2026). Return-rate benchmarks come from Ringly.io, Branvas, and Trackvid's 2026 ecommerce statistics. The break-even ROAS formula matches what every other calculator uses — Break-even ROAS = 1 ÷ gross margin — and we display the formula in plain text below every tool so you can verify it yourself.
When a number can't be sourced (for example, your specific ad cost per unit), the tool uses your input rather than a guessed default. We never invent statistics. If a benchmark appears on this site, it has a citation.
Articles are bylined "Written by the Playblog Dropshipping Team" because they're written by us, the team that runs the calculators and the stores they're based on. We don't fabricate reviewer credentials. There's no "Reviewed by Dr. So-and-so, PhD" line on any article because there isn't a real Dr. So-and-so reviewing them.
If we ever publish an article that needs a credentialed reviewer (a tax article, for example), the reviewer will be a real person with a real, disclosed credential — and that credential will be verifiable, not invented. Until then, the team byline is honest.
The site is monetized through Google AdSense display ads. Ad slots are clearly labeled and visually separated from content and from calculator inputs — no ad is placed where a user might click it by accident while using a tool. We never use language that encourages or incentivizes ad clicks. If you see an ad that violates this, please tell us.
We do not currently use affiliate links. If that ever changes, the disclosure will appear on this page and on every page where an affiliate link appears, in plain language.
